Bangladesh
bounced back from two goals deficit to salvage a thrilling 2-2
draw against Pakistan and book a main round berth of the Under-20
Asian soccer championship in Qatar, at People's Sports Complex
Monday. Bangladesh qualified having better goal difference though
both the teams had seven points each. The table-toppers Bangladesh
needed a draw to win a ticket to Qatar, while Pakistanis required
an outright victory from the group V. Although Pakistan failed
to qualify, they were not disgraced and led 2-0 midway through
the second half, both goals coming from star striker Adeel Ahmad
before a 15,000 vociferous crowd. The fiercely-contested game
started at a brisk pace with both sides playing attacking football.
